Proven, Exemplary Dogs

Our Dogs

We, at Medical Sniffer Dogs Inc., advocate that Service dogs come in all sizes. We recognize that some children and adults prefer, and excel, with a smaller dog. Medical Sniffer Dogs Inc. specialized in training English Cocker Spaniels. This particular breed makes exceptional Medical Alert Service Dogs, due to their outstanding scent detection, temperament, intelligence, motivation, and focus capabilities. Not to mention, they are also the perfect size to fit on your lap, beside you, under your chair, or on your bed!

We work closely with a highly respected breeder, Nonnies Cockers. Nonnies has a longstanding, exemplary reputation among fellow CKC members and breeders for producing quality English Cocker Spaniels, all of which excel in health, temperament, and intelligence.

Our Process

Our Service Dogs in Training (SDITs) are whelped and raised in loving homes and, as a result, we only have a few in training at a time. It takes between one and two years to train a Medical Alert Service Dog from puppy stage through to placement and public access certification. Ongoing training and frequent follow-up contact with you after placement is essential to ensure success and continued alerting.

The cost for a fully trained Medical Alert Service Dog includes: basic obedience, public access and scent alert training; individualized dog/partner training; team public access training and certification; support for the duration of the partnership, up-to-date vaccinations; spay/neuter; CKC registration/transfer of ownership and purchase of the dog from the breeder.

Second Careers

From time to time, we have the opportunity to train an adult English Cocker Spaniel for a second career. The dog may have been a breeding female who is four or five years old and still has plenty of love and life left to share with a partner in need.

Since the work of a Medical Alert Service Dog is not physically demanding, and Cocker Spaniels tend to live long, healthy lives, he or she is usually able to work well into the senior years. We are able to provide the fully trained mature dogs at a discounted overall cost.
